Marshall Jefferson & House Of Virus

The Godfather of house has returned to the scene. Cue, legend and pioneer, Marshall Jefferson. After teaming up with Lithuanian x Manchester duo, House Of Virus, the collaboration came up with two killer tracks displaying themselves at the feet of Skint.

The partnership open up with Lowdown, a track screaming with Chicago references both lyrically and musically. As the vocals instruct, the track gets low to the thudding kick drum and the repeated vocal hooks, ready to get club floors bouncing.

Give Me A Kick is a work of art that is sure to make it into DJ sets across the globe. Just like the House Music Anthem, this production leaves you singing out the title, GIVE ME A KICK! Juddery chords bounce you through the track making you want to stick it on repeat.

Paolo Mojo braves remix duty on Lowdown, down pitching the keys and vocal whilst hollow snares rampantly build the song to the West coast style drop. If it was even possible, later essences of the Chicago movement are echoed even further.

Mihalis Safras gives us a kick with his take on the Original, changing the pattern with rattling percussion and rushed vocals. The deep infectious groove is followed by a disordered breakdown retaining the rolling chug powering through the song.
