BLACK SWAN

NEW SINGLE - ‘BLACK SWAN’  - OUT NOW

Swedish singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Alexander Sjödin doesn’t fit most of the archetypes associated with electronic music. Under the moniker Sailor & I he mines a territory that brings to mind the melancholic, ambitious and richly orchestrated songwriting of Sigur Ros or Bon Iver, as much as the deep Balearic techno class of DJ-producers such as Solomun and Dixon. And yet it’s all done in such a way that you’re liable to hear his music crop up in the sets of unashamed populists like Pete Tong and Eric Prydz. He is that rare creature, a serious, boundary-pushing producer who has the common touch.

Premiered on Radio 1 and now online, Black Swan is the first single taken from Sailor & I debut album on Skint.  A haunting and compelling piece of glacial pop with a heart thumping climax, Black Swan reveals the true genre spanning possibilities of Sailor & I.

The single comes with an atmospheric techno remix from Maceo Plex.

BIKE ENGINE

NEW SINGLE - ‘BIKE ENGINE’  - OUT NOW

British beat-maker Jacob Plant has been budding in the scene over the past two years with a bevvy of genre-bending releases and festival stops around the world. This time, the young artist has teamed up with fellow UK-based reggae artist Stylo G to release their inaugural collaboration “Bike Engine,” out now on Skint.

Originally premiered during Plant’s Tomorrowland set this summer in Belgium, “Bike Engine” features Stylo G’s gruff vocals that narrate a story of summer lust laid over Plant’s groovy beat with raw and rhythmic bass plucks. “Bike Engine” is a dancehall anthem guaranteed to rev up any crowd - whether it be during sunset at a pool party, the festival mainstage or the peak hour at a nightclub. Combining sounds characteristic of reggae, house and dancehall, this track blends some of today’s most popular genres into a unique summer banger.
